Numbness In Left Arm, Are Panic Attacks The Cause ?
Hi yesterday I went to the Acute Care Clinic because I was having numbness in my left arm . I can still feel but it becomes increasingly difficult to move my fingers. They move but I have to really focus to get them moving. the doctor said it is panic attacks and sent me on my way after prescribing 2 anti depressants. I have had panic attacks before and this is not the same thing. Should I return to the hospital?
Your doctor might be right in thinking about Panic attacks after evaluating you. Im presuming you dont have any objective weakness..but you do describe some difficulty in moving your fingers.
The symptoms can occur as a part of a Stroke and if you have trouble in holding objects or doing fine movements like putting a button you can revisit your doctor.
Lets hope there is nothing more than your doctor is anticipating and your numbness improves with medications prescribed.
