Numbness In Right Fingers Mostly When Getting Up, Getting Worse. Taking Nifedipine, No Improvement. Suggestions?

I am experiancing numbnes in my right fingers mostly when I wake up in the morning, I went to see the doctor about two weeks now, was put on nifedipine 5mg at night but its even becoming worse and worse every day. this happens mostly when i wake up and goes away after I finish having a shower. I have no problems with my blood pressure.

Hi and thanks for the query,

I think you might need a keen neurologic examination. The problem certainly has to be of neurologic origin. The position of your hand when you sleep could have a big role to play. Sleeping and compressing a blood vessel that gives blood supply to a given region of the hand could lead to such symptoms. Secondly, a neurologic condition known as the carpal tunnel syndrome could classically present as such. A clinical review is important as treatment is purely dependent on the stage. hi.....
take vit B12 oral or i/m.......along with a short coarse of steriods....you will improve with that.....if symptoms persists then consult a neurophysician for this problem....
