On Dialysis With Spinal Cord Injury. Hard Muscle Protruding Between Tail Bone And Waist. What It May Be?

. I am A 34 year old female, on dialysis with spinal cord injury, no diabetes or other conditions. About a month ago I noticed a hardening of muscle, almost as a rock between my waist and tell bone area from hip to hip. It protruded approximately 3 to 4 inches and less painful even to the slightest touch. In the past week it has begun to subside I would say protruding only maybe an inch and a half to 2 inches at this time. Do you have any idea what it may be?

it is not very common to notice a swelling in this region at your age, Most probably it can be a lipoma. It is a swelling of fatty tissue, or fat and muscle. I would recommend you to get ultrasound of the back to confirm the diagnosis at least. Lipoma are not dangerous swelling and need removal only if they are very painful.
