Pain In Chest And Upper Back, Felt Like Muscle Pull. Normal Blood Test, Dimmer Came High, Normal CT Scan. Why High Dimmer?

Hello I am 35 years old yesterday went to the ER because I had a pain in my chest and upper black that felt like a muscle pull. When I went they did a EKG, X-ray of my chest and blood work . EKG and X-ray came back normal but ddimer came back 1813 high dr decided to do cat scan with dye to rule out clot and Tare in my main arterie ct scan came back normal. So why did my ddimer come so high can it be because I delivered 9month ago or because I was recently diagnose with arthiritis?

Hello, Welcome to healthcaremagic,
From your query i understood that you are worried about high D-Dimer levels in your blood.
Not only a Heart disease or vascular disease is the cause for high D- Dimer levels.
Evan an infection, cancer, pregnancy, Major trauma also increase the D-Dimer level in blood.
There are some false positive causes, Lipemia, High triglyceride levels, Rheumatoid factor, high bilirubin liver.
D-Dimer also increases in Liver diseases due to decreased clearance from blood.

So you have to some other investigations to find the cause.
Some are Complete blood count, ESR, CRP, Rheumatoid factor assay, Liver function test, Lipid profile.
Do not get worried. Consult your Physician with these results.
Any doubt, Kindly reply.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
