Male: 5 11 : 230 lbs (athletic build): age 51: non-smoker: very healthy - jog 3-4 miles 6x/week - healthy diet Pulled lower back muscle (i think) left side week 1/2 ago. slight pain in various positions and lower back would lock up muscular if in wrong position. Within 3 days feeling much better and working back to normal. (happened once before about 4 yrs ago) I have a somewhat dull maybe like a pull - pain radiating from my left testicle (smaller one). no evidence of change in scrotum or lumps . Seems to be correlated to lower back incident. Concerned - is this common? please advise. AAAA

Hello this episode of pain in the back and pain in the area of the left testicle is not a uncommon problem. The following facts need to be looked into for the right solution
a) Check on urinary infection, get a simple urine routine exam done ( albumin, sugar and microscopic ) if it shows albumin and Pus cells, with or without blood, it point to a urinary infection or a stone in the urinary tract.
b) please check on the presence of Hernia, ( Left side ) which could give pain in the back as well as pain on passing urine.
c) to check if it is muscular or not, try to bend to touch the feet without bending the knees, a muscular stiffness will NOT allow u to do it.

Do get back with a urine report.
