Pain In The Shoulder Blade, Chest Tightness. Numbness In The Hand. Concerned About Tumor

Hi. For a few months I have had pain most consistently on a knot on the inside of my left shoulder blade. The pain also shows up as tightness in my upper left chest, my upper spine, and numbness radiates sometimes down to my hand. Pain is relieved somewhat with raising left arm over head - aggravated most by swing arm. Worried most about pancoast tumor on left side. Help! Thanks.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain in the shoulder and other symptoms that you have are likely to be due to inflammation of the joint capsule with a minor nerve root compression. Tendonitis also needs to be ruled out after MRI scan.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. You can consult me again directly through my profile URL http://bit.ly/Dr-Praveen-Tayal
