Pain In The Vagina Due To Injury. Have Swelling. Need To See A Doctor?

Hello, last night I was on a teeter totter at the new park with my boyfriend. This teeter totter was different from the ones when I was a kid and when he sat down it went really high. I slipped off and hit really hard between my legs. It was extremely painful. I struggled walking and when I got home, I could barely walk. I thought I should check on it and I went in the bathroom and a huge, hard knot was on the outer lip of my vagina. It's still swollen today. And i continue with the struggle to walk. Should I see a doctor?

Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

Yes ma'am, you should visit a doctor. Not because I suspect something seriously wrong, but because I wish for a doctor to physically examine the region and make sure nothing is wrong. Your genitalia and the rest of the reproductive system is extremely fragile and should always be taken care of.

This could just be soft tissue injury, from the external description, but we cannot see the condition internally, which is why it is better to be safe that sorry. In the meantime, please try to take as much rest as possible, avoid walking around too much and abstain from sexual intercourse if your are sexually active.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.

Take care.
