Painful Lump, Bruise On Leg After Hitting On Metal Pole. Possibility Of Broken Bone?
I hit my leg pretty hard on a metal pole. It hurt a lot at fist and didn t stop for an hour or so. When it was hit immediately started to bruise . Now there is a noticeable lump, which is painful to the touch. I just wondered if maybe I chipped the bone or something. Oh, and it s been five hours, and it only hurts when I flex my foot , touch it, or walk. Well, it doesn t hurt a lot when I walk, just a bit.
Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Mukesh Chugh's Response
Hi Thanks for writing Based on your description of injury it is advisable to get x ray done of your foot to rule out minor fracture/chip of bone. Mean while you may continue with Ice fomentation (3-4 times a day), rest ,limb elevation and creppe bandage, Take drugs like aceclofenac along with trypsin/chymotrypsin to reduce pain and swelling. These are prescription only drug's so you may have to contact your local doctor.
Hope this information suffices. Take care and I shall be glad to answer any further query. Regards Dr.chugh
