Panic Attacks After Smoking Marijuana. Elevated Heart Rate, Muscle Spasms, Disorientation. Feeling Different Without Drug Use. Why?

i feel high even though i have not smoked marijuana tonight. I did smoke last night and i had a panic attack of sorts. My heart was racing i had serious muscle spasms and had no mental control. this evening i feel disoriented my head hurts at the base of my scull and i feel very lethargic and exhausted. I HAVE gotten plenty of sleep and i have not consumed any drugs in 24 hours. what could this be?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to HCM

Marijuana is a stimulant drug and it activates the CNS. It has potential to precipitate acute psychosis. When it is smoked it may result in severe increase in anxiety and restlessness. Palpitations, muscle spasms are seen. I would advise you to consult a Psychiatrist if symptoms persist. Dont take marijuana again and avoid any psychoactive drug in future.

Hope it helps you, Thanks
