Possibility Of Having Strep, Scarlet Fever & Viral Infection

My granddaughter, who is six years old, has been to her doctor three times in less than three months with severe headaches, fever, rash, sore throat, swollen glands and now enlarge spleen. What do we need to do? Tested on first visit for strep throat - negative. Tested on second visit - diagnosed as strep and scarlet fever, given antibiotics. Tested today - maybe viral infection, no medicine. What is going on? Should we take her to urgent care since they now told my daughter she has an enlarged spleen? Thank you, Lucy

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
It is very uncommon to have headache in a child of 6 years.
There are other symptoms of fever, rash, sore throat, swollen glands and now enlarge spleen. Enlarged spleen is not an emergency.
Since the problem is going on for a long time, I would advise you to to take her to the Pediatrician of repute so that a proper clinical evaluation, examination and tests can be done to come to a diagnosis other than the tests already done.
Also needed may be a second opinion of an Hematologist.
