Pregnancy Scan Showed Hypoechoic Foci, Fibroid, Gestational Age. What Does It Mean?
hi i am 31 yrs old and today went to take first normal scan for OB-Early pregnancy scan report which says two tiny hypoechoic foci measuring 5*4mm and 8*9mm seen in the anterior aspect-seeding fibroid. Single live intrauterine gestation corresponding to a gestational age of 6 weeks 6 days as per present biometry. Since my doc is not availbale today i could not wait till tmw for explanation. Can any one help for the above query.
Please do not worry. It seems that you are having fibroid along with pregnancy. Many women have these. They usually grow during pregnancy due to increasing level of hormones in the body and regress back after delivery. If they grow very big, they may cause some issues like bleeding or preterm pain or problems with the placenta. But these too occur in a small percentage of women. The baby is equal to almost 7 weeks of pregnancy. There must be a comment on the fetal heart rate as usually this can be seen by 6 weeks.
I advise that you do not worry about this as these are not uncommon. Just take your regular antenatal checkup and stay in touch with your obstetrician. Also, it is better that you deliver at an institution or a higher center like a hospital with a team of doctors so that if in case any problems arise they can be dealt with easily.
So do not worry, you will be all right. Be Happy so that the baby smiles and have a good day. Hope I was helpful.
