HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
It is understandable that you are concerned about any possible
weight loss as a result of this acute illness but it should only last a few days and should not have a permanent detrimental effect on the baby provided you remain well hydrated.
Diarrhoea is most commonly caused by a viral infection but can also be caused by bacteria.
It can last up to 3 to 5 days in some persons, rarely longer.
The most important aspect is fluid management. Your intestines are probably not ready to absorb solid food as yet and when you use the foods you are using,it would result in going to the bathroom.
You may want to consider resting your bowels for 24 hrs, use liquids to make sure you are hydrated and you can also consider using yogurts with probiotics because they may hasten healing in the intestines by providing the good bacteria it requires.
Monitor your urine output, any decrease may indicate that you are not using enough fluids.
After 24 hrs you can start back with the dry foods and progress if there is no further
diarrhea.
You can also monitor your baby's movements as well.
You may want to visit your doctor to make sure there are no problems.
I hope this helps
