Pregnant With Rashes On Belly, Terrible Itching And Liquid Oozing Out. Are The Rashes Harmful?
Hi Doc, I am 3o weeks pregnant and having rashes on my belly, with terrible itching. They are inside the stretch marks on my belly. The rashes are spreading to my arms and legs too, though there arent any stretch marks there. Lately, I have noticed, when I itch, the bumps on my belly have some liquid like thing coming out. Is there anything I need to be concerned about? Does this rash cause any harm to me or the baby?
hello, You are carrying 30 wks pregnancy with H/O intense itching, most probably suffering from Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy (ICP). Do some investigations like serum bilirubin (T/C/U),bile acid conc.,alkaline phosphatase, SGPT/SGOT etc. Then consult with your doctor and take suggestive measures. In third trimester,it is more common and not so harmful to baby if treated in time. Take medicine like Tab UDILIV/UDIHELP 300mg BD with anti histaminic lotion/calamine for soothing effect. Dexamethasone is sometime useful. Maintain personal hygiene and do periodic check up. Be well.
