I am undergoing treatment for Bowen s disease for an irritating patch on top of my foot . I have been prescribed some chemotherapy cream (Efudix 5%)which seemed to make the patch so much bigger and more painful and aggressive l so was also prescribed a boost of antibiotic Erythromycin 250mg at 2 4 times per day. I managed to take these for 6 days but found that I felt dreadful. Reading the instructions in the packet I saw that care should be taken as these tablets may effect phenytoin which I also need to take for epilepsy . A return visit to Dr who assured me that it was Ok to try to finish the antibiotic course. She has referred me to a skin specialist for further advice about the mess on my foot. I tried but had a dreadful day on Thursday when I was dizzy and actually fell over from imbalance ( usually I am very active and capable) and perspiring badly. However after a day of taking it easy felt a lot better on Friday. I stopped the anti-biotics as I am sure that they were the main cause. Since then I have had a nasty pain in the centre of my chest (breastbone) and have tried Gaviscon and Rennies without success thinking that the day without food on Thursday may be the cause but am still VERY aware of the ache and pain there this morning.
