Prescribed Actonel, Got Generic Boniva From Pharmacy. Is Change Of Medicine Recommended?

I believe I was originally prescribed Actonel (or generic Actonel), but the pharmacy gave me generic Boniva. Is it recommended to request a change? I've only taken the first dose and am due to take my next dose in about a week or so. I'm concerned about what I read about the side effects of both. Any advice on either/both questions?

Hi,
Both medicines are given for osteoporosis but having different salts.
So there are dose variation as there are different strength of tablets are available.
Actonel is available in two strength, one to be taken daily and another strength tablet taken once in a month.
Where as Bonivia available in 2 strength, one taken daily or another strength to be taken once in a week.
So it is better clarify with your doctor which is prescribed and how to take.
Ok and take care.
