Prescribed Amlong Mt For BP 150/80. Reduced BP To 140/78 After Medication. Healthy Lifestyle. How Long Should The Medication Be Taken?

Is there any one to assist me
I am 34 year old, my height is 160 cm and weight is 66.5 kg
2 weeks back found that i have bp of 150/80 my doctor has told me to take the AMLONG MT 50 every morning after breakfast, now my bp is 140/78 as he told me to continue the same tablets. I am going for morning walk for 1 hr and also in the evening for 30 mins to 50 mins.
Still how many days i need to continue this treatment, please reply to my mai id YYYY@YYYY . thanks, Subbu.

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

From the information you have provided, if you are being treated for hypertension, then your doctor should have told you that this drug would be taken for life unless otherwise. The Blood pressure has reduced thanks to this drug and if we should discontinue it, then you will again return to the previous high values.

Hypertension is treated with life stlye modifications, diet and drugs. if can be controlled without drugs, then that's the best option. I will suggest that you return and talk with your doctor on this. Also, this bp of 140/78 is still diagnostic of HBP and discontinuing this drug should not be taken lightly as i fear the readings would most likely return to the previous values.
