Prescribed Hydroxyzine 25 Mg For Severe Itching In Different Parts Of The Body. Is This A Normal Dose?
I have severe itching in different parts of my body. Enough to drive you crazy! My doctor prescribed Hydroxyzine Cap., 25 mg. every 8 hours as needed. Is this a normal dose? I am really having a hard time and this has been going on for two weeks. He also took blood and my blood pressure was unusually high. Help! Thank you
I can understand your concern for itching all over body. It is difficult to make a exact diagnosis of your condition without pictures and your status of age, sex and occupation.
If I were your dermatologist then would have prescribed to take antihistamine loratadine by mouth as it non-sedating one. Hydroxyzine cause mild to moderate sedation so if you have sedation then you can ask your doctor to change it accordingly. The only precaution you must follow is not to touch, pinch pop or squeeze any of them other wise it can get infected and can cause complications.
Take care.
