Prozac, Luvox, Zoloft, Celexa, Wellbutrin. Can They Cause Weight Gain?

Hello, I am researching SSRI's. I noted the drugs named in an article which have been identified as not causing gain: Prozac, Luvox, Zoloft, Celexia, Wellbutrin. It was commented that in your experience, some of them are associated with weight gain is apparent. Can you identify those drugs because I really want to rule out their side-effects as the cause of weight gain.

Hi there ~

I understand your concerns. While there are studies that indicate that prozac, luvox, celexa and sometimes celexa can cause weight gain by increasing your appetite; there are in fact studies that show that wellbutrin reduces your weight by decreasing your appetite. I also believe that you might do well to consult a psychiatrist to get the right medications if you are conscious of weight gain or loss as a result of using these medications.
