Purple Bruise On Leg Directly Behind Knee. Will The Mark Stay ?
Hi, I woke up this morning and noticed a bruise on my leg almost directly behind my knee , about the size of a quarter and it was purple. I ve never had a bruise like this before. I also do not recall hurting myself recently. I didn t have the bruise when i went to sleep last night. Could I have done something while I was sitting in a certain position for a long time that would create a mark like that?
hi theere, it is indeed a bruise and it must have occured when you hurt yourself while walking or accidently hit the chair or bed. Check if you have any more such bruise any where else or in the recent past if such episodes have occured. If yes then you may get your bleeding time and clotting time done. If there is any derangement then you will need to visit your health care provider and get further investigated. If not ,do not worry and the bruise will subside on its own in a weeks time. Take care.
It is unlikely from prolonged sitting.
If it becomes bigger / new lesions appear - systemic causes have to investigated / particularly minor bleeding diathesis
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
