Raised Lesions On Abdomen, Itches, Benadryl. Treatment?

My child has tiny clusters of raised lesions on her abdomen . They resemble air bubbles, in that they are soft in appearance and touch, and is maleable when pushed. They bother her, primarily at night, presenting in itching and general irritation to the skin. They are not red, and there is no rash associated with the bumps. I have found that benedryl helps to ease the itching and discomfort. We have seen a dermatologist , and he has suggested we burn them off. I however do not know that I agree with this treatment plan, does anyone have any suggestions?
