Rash On Face, Back, Neck, Stomach, Bottom. 4 Lumps Found In Nape Area, Largest Behind Ear. What Could Be The Cause Of This?
My 4 year old girl has a raised rash on her face, back, neck, stomach, on her bottom, and in her underwear area. Today is the 3rd day for the rash. She has a sore throat, coughing, and I found 4 lumps in her nape area in her hairline. The largest being behind her left ear in bottom hairline? What is causing the lumps? Are there lymph nodes there?
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. Fever, sore throat, cough with generalised rash over body points towards a viral exanthem. The lumps behind ear ad nape of neck are lymph nodes that might have got enlarged due to infection. Please book an appointment with your paediatrician, so that proper treatment in the form if cough syrups and antibiotics can be started. The rash should subside on its own. Application of calamine lotion and intake of oral antihistamine syrup would soothe the rash. Enlarged lymph nodes will settle, once the infectious phase is over. Wishing your little girl speedy recovery.
