Reason For Child's Bed Wetting After Hemispherectomy?

Hi Doctor,

My 10 year daughter suffered a severe head injury which led to a hemispherectomy (left) about 6 years ago.

She continues to bed wet (one hr into sleeping and almost every 2 hrs thereafter) even after controlled fluid intake

What could be the problem?.

Thank you for asking!
Trauma that severe leading to hemispherectomy resulting in hemispherectomy is explainable as nocturnal enuresis is a very common complication for that. Try alarm therapies and intranasal desmopressin acetates or oxybutynins with avoidance of fluids to minimum from afternoon onwards.Seek a paediatric neurologist for further assessment.
Take care
