Reason For Weight Loss?

I was diagnosed with C. difficile in June, referred to an infectious disease specialist, and was involved with a blind drug test. My symptoms returned October, November , while I tested positive for C. difficile again, the infectious disease people say it is a false positive. I lost 20 pounds with the first diagnosis, have lost a further 10. I have swelling in my abdominal section, and also on the right side of my stomach. My doctor refuses to do anything without ruling out C. difficile

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this weight loss. If C diff has presented with the classical symptoms of persistent diarrhea, then this is the most likely cause of your weight loss. However, with swelling in the abdominal section, I will suggest that you doctors ignore Cdiff and examine you fully to identify the cause of these symptoms as they are not likely explained by Cdiff.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
