Hello,
For post-mastectomy
pain syndrome (PMPS), medicines like
Gabapentin or
pregabalin (nerve stabilizers), Amitriptyline(tricyclic antidepressants — at low doses for pain), are prescribed. If needed, lidocaine patches or creams and capsaicin cream are also prescribed. Nerve blocks: Injections to calm irritated nerves are also prescribed.
Let her get the treatment that her treating surgeon is giving.
Chronic pain also affects mood and coping with all that. You are advised to counsel and support her. Help her recover. Let her finish with all the prescribed medicines. You can help her get connected with a pain specialist. Homoeopathic Hypericum 30C is not considered a primary remedy for depression, though it is widely used for nerve pain.
It is not advisable to give homoeopathic and allopathic medicines all at a time. Give her time to recover as she is already being treated by her Surgeon. If you’re looking for a gentle, supportive suggestion for someone with depression and you want to include
homeopathy, it’s better to consult a trained homeopath to select a constitutional remedy based on the full picture.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
