Should I Be Concerned About The Swelling In Forehead Caused By Hitting?

I'm very sorry to hear about your injury. You have been treating your injury in exactly the right way. From what you have described, it does seem like that you have a minor injury. The reason im saying this is because you dont have symptoms like vomiting, dizziness or memory loss. And if you dont have any additional symptoms like weakness or numbness in the limbs, nausea, blurring or other disturbances in vision then you shouldn't be worried about this.

You should continue to ice the area up to 3 - 4 times a day with ice packs for 15 - 20 minutes at a time. You can manage the pain with OTC painkillers like tylenol, motrin or even aleve. Lastly, the only thing which you need to monitor yourself for are the symptoms which i have described above, if you develop any of those symptoms at any point in time you should immediately contact your doctor.

Let me tell you something regarding Traumatic Brain Injury at first-- Its either by direct/indirect impacts due to which there are injury at the site of the skull where it got hit and inside where the brain matters got hit with the skull, resulting in a lot of symptoms like headache, soreness over the affected area, redness , dizziness, dec vision/hearing/fits , loss of consciousness etc.

As for your case, the swelling should get setteled down in another few hours (just keep the ice pack on -your doing just fine) while the bruise (depending on its size,area and intensity of the force of injury) should get resolved in a few days (generally takes ~ 7-14 days)

Meanwhile if you experience Mild Headache/Pain just take Tab.PARACETAMOL 650mg three times a day(8 hrs apart) after some food for 2-3 days

Right now there's no need to concern but if you experience any worsening of symptoms and appearance of any of those alarming features stated above , check in to your nearest ER at the earliest
