Should I Start Bactroban For Impetigo?

I get impetigo at least once a year, I have it right now, how do you get the redness to go away? And if you peeled off the skin, what do you recommend putting on it? I have tried every remedy possible and I am prescribed to bactroban. I got it Thursday and looking for a fast way to get rid of it before the Holidays
