Should I Take My Child To ER If His Ribs Are Paining From Two Weeks?

Hello, my 11 year old son is complaining about his right rib hurting him. He mentioned it earlier and says it has been hurting for two weeks but today is the first time he mentioned it. He says it hurts off and on. I tried calling his Doctor's office but could not get through. Not sure if I should take him to the ER or wait until the morning and call his doctors office again. He's lying down now but says it hurts bad.

Hi.
If the child of 11 is saying for the first time in 2 weeks time, there has to be more pain.
IS there any history of trauma?
Is there any breathlessness or the pain is increasing on deep breathing?
Is there associated fever or cough?
If these are there, you should visit ER.
He may need to be seen by a Doctor to ascertain there is no underlying serious problem.
