Small Child, Frequent Vomiting Bouts, Itchy Feet, Severe Pain. Causes For Symptoms?

My daughter who is 4 years old has been having bouts of vomiting (usually once or twice a day, although she has gone one whole day and night without vomiting) since last Friday. Tonight she started vomiting and then cried for about an hour saying that her feet were itchy and painful. She is now fine and going back to sleep. I m stumped! Any thoughts on what this could be?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi

Did she have fever any time?
Was she given any medications?

She might be having Gastritis. It can well be seen in many viral infections.
Try to give her medications like Lansoprazole in right dosage for a week. This will help in reducing the acidity.
For vomiting you may give her medications like Domperidone or Ondensetron according to her weight.

If the pain and itching in feet are persistent you might need to see your Pediatrician.
All symptoms can well fit into a viral episode.

Till her activity is fine and intake is okay, you need not worry.
Give her plenty of fluids and you may give her Acetaminophen for her pain.

If she continues to vomit- you must see your Pediatrician at the earliest- as repeated vomiting will cause dehydration and even electrolyte disturbances.

Hope my answer helps you.
Wish your daughter good health.
