Hi
Thanks for your query
Your child is having acute gastroenteritis which is mostly viral in nature,
Most important is to maintain proper hydration.
I suggest you to continue with oral dehydration solution sip by sip after each loose stool.give coconut water, lemon water, curd, banana, boiled potato.
Also give lactobacillus sachet for 2 to 3 days and zinc for 14 days.
In case symptoms persist take her to pediatrician.
Hi,
No other medicines ! Even norgyl can be stopped if stools are watery.
Keep giving ORS and check that baby is passing uriewell and active .
Avoiding dehydration is very essential.
He should improve in 2-3 days time.Good luck
Hello I have gone through your complaints. Your child is suffering from gastroenteritis . Vomitings has subsided which is a good sign . Generally loose stools will take at least 5-6 days to subside completely as the useful bacteria has to get replaced. It's nice that you are giving your child ORS. Additionally prebiotics with probiotics and zinc can be prescribed for a faster recovery and better outcome. Take care about the hydration status of your child.
Thank you. Good day
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
You continue the medication as prescribed by your Pediatrician.
Loose motions will take time to decrease approximately 3 to 5 days, but in this duration give oral rehydrating solutions to prevent dehydration.
Asking for water is because of thirsty which is a sign of some dehydration, so keep giving oral rehydrating solution as much she wants to drink.
You can give her the regular diet in addition to the above medication.
Hope i have answered your query.
