I m a 25 year old female. I think I may have a cold or sinus infection right now, a couple days ago I felt the dryness of my throat and it was a bit sore, just seemed to have started throughout the day. Yesterday morning, I woke up with a dry cough and was a bit sore as well, stuffed up and runny nose and felt a bit of pressure in my head. But I noticed my weird head thing seemed to be worse than usual(I ll explain what the weird head thing is in a moment). I seemed to have had the stuffed and runny nose on one side, and last night I noticed when blowing my nose that the other side of my nose had a bit of blood come out of it(I did not have a nose bleed, I tend to not get nose bleeds ), the blood was red at first but was mixed with dark red and a bit clotty looking. Happened a few more times as I was checking, but the stuffed up side didn t have any blood at all. Sleeping wasn t great last night as I kept having to blow and wipe my nose. Overnight, it seemed to have started to move to the other side as well but hasn t let up on the other side. As the day progresses, I can feel the other side(the side that had the blood) starting to get more stuffed up and the side that was stuffed and runny is running a lot more. My one eye is watering quite a bit more than yesterday so it s a bit swollen at the moment. I don t feel like moving much today, I get a bit light headed but I get random sudden dizzy spells that come and go for some other unknown reason daily and sometimes vertigo as well, so I doubt the lightheadedness as anything to do with the sinus, mostly my muscles are just a bit sorer, so it does feel like I have a cold. I often have a stuffed up nose and ends up running a lot even though I may not have a cold at that time, certain places seem to be worse than others, my work for example but has been happening for quite a few years now so it s just more of an annoyance. Going out in the cold air seems to burn my nose and sometimes make it run as well. 10 years ago someone at a hospital mentioned I should have my adenoids because I was unconcious in the hospital and was snoring loud(I could never really breathe great through my nose during the day, and always snored, still do). And I often ended up catching a lot of sinus colds when I was younger. Lately, I ve been catching a lot of sinus colds as well, but that may be that my immune system seems to be a bit down. My weird head thing: I have this weird feeling in my head. It s the closest I can compare brain zaps to(from coming off effexor cold turkey in 2006 which eventually went away with time but I have this other feeling instead. The area above my temples and eyebrows most of the time it s both sides but sometimes it s just one and not as strong of a feeling(because I m currently sick and it seems to be on one side more, it s mostly just the one side at the moment). I feel and hear it(sounds like a very loud vibration and I feel my head vibrating just in that spot) at the exact same moment as my eyes start to burn and I need to tightly close them. I cannot keep them open when this happens, I can feel the pressure closing my eyes. It happens for 3-5 seconds usually but could be as long as 15-20 seconds then releases, but about 20 seconds later or less, it comes back. It does this once or twice if it s not bad, sometimes for several minutes. It probably happens the same amount of days it doesn t, but if it does it happens numerous times that day. It often starts to happen when I m on my computer or watching tv, but can happen in a room with a light as well. It has never started at a time there was no light, but shutting the light out once it s started doesn t make it stop right away. I heard this is most likely eye strain, but haven t gotten my eyes checked. As far as I remember, I haven t gotten my eyes checked other than when I got my license 9 years ago and that was at the dmv with the test they do. Thsey said nothing to me there, so it couldn t have been that bad at the time although lately with the progression of my dizziness/sudden off balance, my eyes do get blurrier now sometimes even without the dizziness present. What I m wondering is does the weird head thing have anything to do with me not being able to breathe clearly through my nose throughout the day, and if so, do I have some sort of sinus issue? I was looking up on sinuses and it looked like the sensation I feel in my head is where the frontal sinuses are in some photos but others showed the left and right frontal sinus very close towards the middle of your forehead rathe than above the arches of the eyebrow to the end of the eyebrow on the outside so I m not sure which one would be correct. I don t have any allergies as far as I know, I am a smoker.
