Sore Throat, Chest Infection, Mouth And Throat Ulcers. Treatment?

Have been going slowly mad with repeated sore throats since bad chest infection at Easter. ENT consultant put me on Clarythromyacin antibiotics and Flixonase drops for 6 weeks then announced as I was still getting sore throat, more likely to be inflammation coming from trachea and not sinus cavities as he suspected. Has told me to see a respiratory specialist and sent me to GP for inhalers but can't see GP till next Monday. Now have mouth and throat ulcers to add to the list. Please help.

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.

After reading your post, I would advise that you should go for a throat swab culture for knowing the appropriate antibiotic for that infection.

You can take folic acid 5mg twice a day for mouth ulcers.
Local application of Benzocaine gel half hour before meals will be helpful in relieving your symptoms.

I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
