Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Soreness And Stiffness In The Knuckles, Wrists And Ankles. No Swelling. Causes?
what can be the cause of top of hands and wrists and my ankles have been very sore to touch and achy constantly, mainly over my knuckles on my left hand to the touch. I haven t done anything different than usual or hit any areas on anything. There doesn t seem to be any exterior swelling but they do feel stiff, both wrists and ankles.
The one thing I would like to rule out in the absence of trauma would be rheumatoid arthritis. Please visit a physician for confirmation.
Rheumatoid arthritis sometimes presents with stiffness of the joints (small joints ) , especially early morning stiffness of the wrist , fingers etc. A blood work up and X ray of the hand might be necessary.
For immediate pain relief, please take a brufen after food. Apply hot fomentation on the affected joints intermittently.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
