Spotting During Ovulation Time. Trying To Get Pregnant. Starting Perimenopause? Will I Ovulate If I Am Spotting?

I'm 39 and am trying to get pregnant again. Our son is 14 months old. I am supposed to ovulate tomorrow but, on Sunday I had a brownish spotting then Monday as well. Last night we had sex and now every time I urinate there is red on the toilet paper. This has never happened before. Am I starting perimenopause? Can I still ovulate even if I'm spotting? How do I know when I will ovulate if I'm having breakthrough bleeding?

Hello,

Spotting and mild cramp are quite common during ovulation time among some women (20%). It is called mittelschmerz syndrome. No treatment is required.

You can use ovulation prediction kit to monitor your ovulation. It will help to maximize your chance of pregnancy.

Here, you will be able to conceive and you have to try at least 6-12 months around fertile days for successful conception. Take folic acid supplements.

Maintain genital hygiene properly. Good luck.
