Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

Most of your symptoms do match the side effects of visanne, especially the breast tenderness and discomfort. I would request you to revisit your doctor for an evaluation, who will decide whether or not to continue visanne. Such decisions are usually made weighing the risks and benefits. If the benefits are more than the side effects, your doctor might decide on continuing the medication, but will surely help to control your side effects, to provide you relief to a certain extent, at the least.

As for the resolution of pelvic pain, although there is no fixed duration for the recovery observed, trials conducted on the efficacy of visanne to reduce pelvic and abdominal pain in women diagnosed to have endometriosis have lasted up to 15 months. So, the reduction of pain is a gradual process, but it should take effect within 2-4 weeks of use. Please be patient, and do not discontinue the medication until your doctor advises you to do so. Wishing you lots of luck and a speedy recovery.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications at: http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-shoaib-khan/64581 . I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.

OBGYN Dr. Sree Gouri SR's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query.

Visanne belongs to progestin groups.
It can cause side effects like breast tenderness, pain abdomen, mood swings etc.
But dizziness, palpitations etc can be sue to some serious side effect like thromboembolism.
Don't worry this is rare possibility.
But better to rule out.
So consult your gynecologist as early as possible and discuss regarding your problem and if she suggests change your medicine.
After using the pills it may take around 3 months for the symptoms to decrease.
For more details you can ask me through: http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-sree-gouri-sr/63429
Take care.
