Still Experience Extreme Pain After Bi- Lateral TKR 18 Months Ago

I had bi- lateral TKR 18 months ago and I am still experience extreme pain. I am unable to walk properly which effect my hip, back and IT band. I have burning sensation in my knee caps and the medial aspect of my left knee fasticulates and I get a sudden sharp jabbing pain in that area. Blood work was done to rule out infection. My doctor thought I had arthrofibrous and five months ago I had arthroscopic surgery to release the adhesion in and around the implant. This surgery was done using a shaver and it was not successful. As I now understand it, using a shaver causes too much bleeding, which in turn causes swelling, pain and more adhesions. Please, can you advise me. My doctors are with the Cleveland Clinic but they claim they haven t had a patient with my symptoms.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
I think your doctors are right as having so much pain after 2 years without any infection is very rare. There is slight possible of sub clinical infection which is not seen in blood. I would suggest you to take Amytryptalin tablet daily. This will take care of any pain. Lets wait for some more time say 6 months.
