Suffered From Dog Bite And On Medication.Is This Medicine Available Everywhere?
Hi, Doctors. I got bitten by a dog this morning in Shanghai, China. I went to a hospital and got treated. One of the shots I had was named: Rabipur, made by Chiron Behing Vaccines Private Ltd. This treatment requires 4 shots: 2 today, 1 after 7 days and 1 after 21 days. The last shot should be taken on May 24. I have been scheduled to go back to the United States on May 21. Can I get Rabipur in the United States? If I cannot get Rabipur in the United State, is there a replacement for Rabipur? If there will not a replacement, what should I do? Many thanks at advance.

This is very nice that you have taken treatment promptly.
Rabies vaccination has to be taken in 5 doses 0,3,7,14 and 21/28 day.
I suggest you to complete all 5 doses for full protection since dog cannot be traced for 10 days.
Regarding brand of vaccine it is available world wide and you can consult your doctor in United states and he will guide you accordingly.
