Suggest A Post-esophageal Diet

my husband continues to loose weight from gastric/esophageal surgery after a ruptured esophagus. his symptoms are similar to gastropheresis.. he is 6 4 and down to 200 lbs. and is getting weak... what can he eat to gain weight that won t make him sick???

Thanks for your query.
Noted your history about your husband who underwent surgery for ruptured esophagus.He has symptoms similar to gastropheresis, I think you mean by is gastroparesis. He is continued to loose weight and wants to know about the diet which can help him regain the weight without letting him sick.
My thoughts:
First of all it is important to know the reasons to have not regaining weight, is it just the diet or something else by doing the following things:
Upper GI Endoscopy to see any possible stricture or so.
Barium studies to see problems related to the upper GI.
Make a list of the the foods and beverages that suit him the most and to continue the same under the guidance of a Dietitian.
If needed request for feeding jejunostomy.
See if he needs further medications related to this problem and continue till advised for.
