about a week ago, i went to the doctor for a uti, he said given that I have no kerotine in my urine I have high rbc and wbc count in my urine (45-50 for both) he said I could have kidney infection or stones, but had no pain in my kidneys. A few days after the antibiotics he prescribed me I started getting shingles. I have a shingle on the right side of my middle back and stopped the medication 5 days after my prescription was started. How can I get rid of shingles at home, i can't afford a doctor and the shingles are very painful, more like burning than itching. And, does the blood in urine and shingles go together??
General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem is most likely urinary infection. It can be secondary to kidney stones. An ultrasound examination can rule out that. Rashes you got is most likely due to allergy to antibiotics. In such case antibiotic should be stopped and can take antihistamines like levocetirizine. Calamine lotion application locally will give relief from rashes and irritation. Urine should be send for culture and change to another antibiotic if necessary. Cranberry juice or barley water can be taken to alkalizing urine. Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further queries.
