Suggest Medication For Purple Urine Bag Syndrome

I have dark tea coloured urine, a UTI that we re not treating as the UA showed the bacteria as enterococcus and we want to reserve the vanco for something serious. I also get purple urine bag syndrome. I get lots of infections as I have bilateral lower limb lymphedema. I am bed bound and have a Foley catheter.

Hello dear
Understand your concern.
Purple bag syndrome is a harmless conditions.
It is due to chronic characterization along with urinary tract infections.
Mainly due to: pseudomonas, klebseilla, proteus and Ecoli.

It is due to indoxyl phosphatase enzyme that produce by bacteria in urine.
Advice:
First treat the urinary tract infection
Maintain hydration
You can take vancomycin or ceftazidime parentrally
Minimize the time of catheterization
Change the catheter and bag regularly
Maintain hygiene properly.
