Suggest Medication For Swelling Above Biceps And Elbow

I'm a healthy 19 year old male and recently went to the gym for the first time in 11 months two days ago. I did too much upper body weight exercise and now I cannot fully extend or stretch out my arm. There is swelling above where the bicep and brachioradialis meets the top of the elbow. I did stretching afterward and the day after but it seemed the muscle only became tighter with each stretch. I don't have any ice packs, frozen vege's etc or heat packs. It is difficult but not impossible to do things like open doors or carry light objects (the door to my room is quite heavy, I live on campus at university). Just wondering if I should do anything about it.

Hello there,
What you have is a triceps soreness. It is inserted around your elbow and any problem with extension normally is of tricep origin. It would take its time going down about a week. If you do not have heat packs handy, you can apply diclofenac gel on it and restrict movement on that arm. If it dosent go down in a week then you need to take an appointment and see a doctor.

Thank you for your query.
