my son 5months old and he is suffring with dayeria we have test his stool so he has pus cells 15 His stool colour some time green and some time yellow Doctor give him medicine about bectria infection but still it is not in control Daily he toilet 5 to 6 times
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your 5 month old son having diarrhea, stool test showing 15 pus cells, stool color is green sometimes and yellow sometimes, Doctor gave antibiotic but still not in control, he is passing motion 5 to 6 times a day. Your history is specific about a bacterial intestinal infection in a small baby of just 5 months. The antibiotic has not worked because of the following possible reasons: - Bacteria resistant to infection. - There is continued source of infection like the bottle, spoon, container, nipple and areola if breastfeed. Hence I would advise you the following: Culture and sensitivity of the stool. Change over to another antibiotic and add on probiotic. Preventive measures to find the cause and get treated accordingly.
