Suggest Medications For Hair Loss In Normocalcemic Hyperthyroidism Patients
I have lost 98% of my hair. I am 48. My last period was probably 1 year ago. My hair stopped growing then went dry and then fell out over a 9 month period. Just been diagnosed with normocalcemic hyperthyroidism ...... will my hair ever grow back. Feel really ill. Doctors have advised sit and weight and said mine isn t a thyroid problem until my thyroid has been completely destroyed by the tyroid antibodies
Normocalcemic primary hyperparathyroidism is when the blood parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels are higher than normal but the blood calcium level is normal. This condition does not cause hair loss.
Hypothyroidism can cause dry hair and hair loss (symptoms like yours). If your thyroid has been completely destroyed by the thyroid antibodies, this means that you have hypothyroidism.
In this case, the right treatment for your hair loss is the thyroid hormone replacement therapy or Levothyroxine.
