Suggest Medicines For Pyrexia In A 7 Year Old Child

Hi,my son is having pyrexia of unknown origin .cultures negative,emperically started on anti malerial chloroquin-not working hence doctor has started him on ofloxacin syrup ...i will appreciate if u let me know if it is safe and what is the right dose for a 7 years old child weighing 17 kg with normal renal parameters
