Suggest Remedy For Itchy Vaginal Burning

Hi,I am experiencing a burning sensation & soreness at the entrance of my vagina when I am having sex with my Husband, I have had this for some years but always thought it was due to lack of lubrication & it wasn't really very severe. The last 6 months or so the burning is quite a bit stronger but still copable, but because I know there will be pain during sex it makes me reluctant to have sex often. When I've had sex I have to wait a day or 2 before I can have sex again. I have been with my Husband for 10 yrs, during our 1st yr together we both had genital warts which we had treated, it is ever since then I have experienced the burning sensation. I didn't think it would be thrush as I don't seem to have any irregular discharge & in the past I have ben to the doctors to treat thrush but this symptom remains the same. The discharge I do have is clear whitish & pretty odourless! The pain is quite intense when my husband 1st puts his penis inside me, I have no pain internaly but at he thrusts in & out there is some burning at the entrance to my vagina.
Please advise as this is extremely fustrating for me.
I am 29, 5ft 5, 9st 10, generally in good health, only issue is allergies to animal fur, pollen, dust etc..
Thanks

Hallow Dear,

I must complement you for the detailed history you have provided; particularly regarding thrush and the warts. Your symptomatology is pointing towards either Monalial infestation (Thrush or Yeats) or Trichomonal infestation. You have already got Monalial infestation ruled out. Moreover, your vaginal discharge is more suggestive of Trichomonal infestation.

Tablets of Metronidazole will give you relief from this infestation. However, along with the medicinal treatment, you have to follow certain instructions:

1. These instructions are for both the sexual partners.
2. This infestation is sexually transmitted; hence both the sexual partners should take the treatment simultaneously lest the reinfection problem. Many a times, the males do not have appreciable symptoms and hence they avoid taking the treatment.
3. Shave the private parts clean. The discharge paint up in the hair causes reinfection.
4. Every day boil the underwear to kill the germs in the underwear (due to discharge).
5. For you, use panty liners.
6. Cut the nails short.
7. Observe sexual abstinence till both you are declared cured.

Usually it takes about a week for cure.

Hope this helps you.

Wishing happy married life,

Dr. Nishikant Shrotri
