There are many options for treating MS these days from injections to orals. My personal opinion is not to use the oral medications just yet since I don't think they've had quite enough time out in general use for my comfort levels compared to the injectable interferons such as Copaxone (one of my favorites for my patients), Rebif, Betaseron, and Avonex (my LEAST favorite of the injectables). All of these medications (including the new oral ones that have come out) are extremely expensive and must be used carefully. Therefore, I'm assuming that whoever ordered the MRI for you is also treating you correct? Unfortunately, the issue of your left side not working properly is one that needs to be examined directly by a neurologist in order to find out what can be done to get that situation moving in the right direction.

If you'd like to place a question directly to my attention on this network at DARIUSH SAGHAFI, MD I would be very happy to answer more fully other questions you must have about your condition.

All the best to you
