Suggest Remedy For Reduced Appetite And Pain In Abdomen At The Age Of 90

My 91 year old mother claims she is hungry but has no appetite. For 2 days she was weak due to food intake that caused her to have stomach ache unbearably but she is quite ok now. Her blood pressure is normal, she has had angioplasty but has kidney problems. our doctor wants her to have dialysis but she refuses and so far she is doing well. What can we do to increase appetite. Is she also ok to take nepro which has milk but we dont want her to have the same bout again. Thanks

Hello

Thank you for trusting HCM

Reduced apetite more common in elderly along with age it may due to Lack of energy to cook
Lack of interest in food due to changing taste buds, depression or loneliness, loss of appetite due to health conditions, medication side effects.

Chronic kidney disease may also cause reduced apetite due to altered taste or anemia with multi vitamin deficiency.

Give her nutrient density food, set a regular time for eating and social eating behavior. Avoid drugs that cause reduce appetite (if possible).

If symptoms not improved consult your doctor.
