Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had diarrhea for the past three months. The strange part is one day I may have one bowel movement which is extremely loose and then a couple of days I will have several movements. However, every day for the last three months this has been happening. I have seen my doctor, and had a stool test done but have not received any word yet on the results. I m leaving next Saturday for Florida and would like some answer before I leave. What do you think is wrong? No fever, but I do have extreme bloating. No chills, lots of gas and I am not a dairy fan.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history Loose tools and diarrhea for a few months. Stool report not yet available. The most probable causes of such things are: IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome. Intolerance. Sprue. Crohs and so on. You need the following: Tests of stool. Blood: sugar thryroid and liver functions. Colonoscopy CT scan of abdomen. Clinical evaluation by Gastroenterologist. This will give the correct diagnosis and plan of management.
