Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Pain With Mucous Discharge In Stool
I have been sick off an on for a year. i have had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. It starts with bladder/urine pressure like I am coming down w/ a urinary infection, then I have horrible runs, then i get jelly substance in my poop. poop is liquid that settles to the bottom and jell stuff that floats, then I get bound up and dont go at all then I get abdominal pains under my right rib cage, now I am having lower right back pain and upper right back pain. As well, I have deep deep gas that i can burp for awhile for a girl. I am 45. past surgery for a hernia in the same area.
my poop is light tan not brown anymore and often smells pretty nasty
Bad foul smelling stool, abdominal pains, jelly like stools that settle in bottom of commode and some of which floats indicate that you may most probably be suffering from severe form of colitis.
Hence I would advise you the following:
- Since colonoscopy and Upper GI Endoscopy have already been done, it is necessary to send the sample of stool for three consecutive days. - Tests for thyroid, liver and kidney functions. - CT scan of abdomen. - Preliminary treatment with an antibiotic, metronidazole and probiotics may help you. - Symptomatic treatment with Antispasmodic, PPI like Omeprazole and so on are usually needed. - Have regular follow up.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant
