Suggest Treatment For Acid Reflux

I'm a 15 year old girl, and I have acid reflux disease. I have heartburn after everything I eat and sometimes it lasts about an hour or more and makes me really nauseous. I'm currently taking prevacid but it does nothing for me. Sometimes I'll get occasional pains around my sides and it's starting to become a problem. Every time I go to my doctor he just gives me over the counter medicine and doesn't really give it much attention. I've heard that a situation like this could become severe. My friend had cancer from acid reflux and got a plastic esophagus put in. Ive been having acid reflux for about a year or so. Can you please help me?

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your stomach upset and reflux esophagitis.

There is no need to worry, acid reflux can cause esophagus cancer is not the only cause of esophagus cancer. It modern literature it can be ONE? But it is not proved till.

Yes, lensiprozale (Prevacid) is one of the good medication for the reflux esophagitis.

Get a H. Pylori test done. It is major cause of gastric ulcer and reflux esophagitis

You need to take other proton pump inhibitor like pantoprazole with domperidone but keep in mind take it early morning empty stomach and don't eat for half an hour after taking it.
Avoid spicy, oily, junk food, late nights food, alcohol, smoking,..
Raise your head side of bed about 4inches. Do mild. Exercise but not immediately after taking food.
