Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have crohns disease.50 yrs. 3 yrs ago after having surgery removing my colon 10 yrs ago I developed pain in my joints and entire body. Still exists today. very debilating. The pain and stiffness keeps me awake at night. I cannot tolerate over the counter pain and inflammation meds. I also cannot tolerate morphine when hospitalized, only dilates. your expert advice will be appreciated...
Dear; thanks for using HCM . I read your question in details and understand your concern. Crohns Disease is a systemic condition that can be associated with generalized arthritis. It can cause a lot of pain which might need systemic treatment with medications also used in Rheumatoid ARthritis and polyarthropathy. I recommend you to see a rheumatologist for evaluation and specific treatment of your arthrosis. Medication as morphine or opiods are not the best treatment for this problem, they can cause dependence and you still with pain. I hope that my advise has been helpful Dr.Sara
